The Rev. John M. Clausing is a graduate of Lakeland University B.A, Mission House Seminary, B.D. and Princeton Seminary, Th.M.  He is an associate member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a retired pastor of the United Church of Christ.  He was a pioneer in professional interim ministry after serving 22 years in three pastorates — one each in a rural, an inner city and a suburban community.  He spent a year as an exchange pastor in a German-speaking church in Bielefeld, Germany.  Active in civic affairs, he was the founder or co-founder of a home for the aging, a nursery school, a neighborhood association, a thrift shop, a jail ministry and a refugee resettlement committee.   Twice he led as President two different institutions — a youth center and a retirement center — through times of financial difficulties, reorganizing their structures.  For many years he had an interest in Honduras and cooperated with mission work in that country.  After becoming a part of Epworth Church, his interest shifted to Haiti and is the author of the book detailing the relationship of Epworth United Methodist Church and the people of Haiti.  He also spent four years as a school teacher.  He is an amateur genealogist, a family historian, father of four, grandfather of eleven and a husband of 60+ years.
